Here we have an early Hardy Silex Minor, factory-stamped as a Silex Major, produced as a spinning reel and fitted with twin ebonite handles. It features a smooth brass single-button release backplate with light-to-heavy adjuster. Purchased from the notable Somerset collection of over 90 Hardy reels, this is one of the early Minor models marked as a Silex Major—a scarce and interesting example for the Hardy collector.
