Peter Duncan Malloch was born in 1853 in the little village of Almondbank near Perth. By the age of fourteen he was able to make a rod and tie flies. With his brother James as his assistant he started at the age of eighteen a small taxidermy and fishing tackle business in one room off the high street Perth.
Business progressed and a shop was opened in the High Street and from there moved in 1903 to Scott Street. It has since moved back to the old High Street.
P.D. Malloch died at the age of 68 in 1921.
