TT opinion: A good early Hardy Uniqua MK II alloy trout fly reel. This is the earliest duplicated MKII design bearing the ‘underline’ of the details. This reel was built in Alnwick in 1922 and preceded the later more common design in 1923 and on. Reel has factory xylonite handle, horse shoe drum latch and smooth brass foot stamped ‘ENGLAND’. Reel turns fine with the slightest of drum rock. A rare model for any collector.
