TT Opinion: From a remarkable larger collection of unused Hardy of Alnwick fully dressed salmon flies dating to c.1960s. The collection has been authenticated by Ken Middlemist, the last Hardy fly dresser, who confirmed that the flies were tied at Hardy and are likely the work of either himself or fellow Hardy dresser Tom Weatherill. Unlike many of the earlier flies from this collection, this particular Torrish example is not in its original packet and no longer retains its original Hardy tag. Nevertheless, its provenance and authentication remain the same, making it a highly collectable original Hardy salmon fly and an excellent example of the classic Torrish pattern.
