TT Opinion: From a remarkable larger collection of unused Hardy of Alnwick fully dressed salmon flies dating to c.1960s. The collection has been authenticated by Ken Middlemist, the last Hardy fly dresser, who confirmed that the flies were tied at Hardy and are likely the work of either himself or fellow Hardy dresser Tom Weatherill. Unlike the loose examples from this collection, this particular Fiery Brown retains both its original Hardy tag and original packet, adding considerably to its collectability. Its provenance and authentication make it a highly collectable original Hardy salmon fly and an excellent example of the classic Fiery Brown pattern.
