This is a late Victorian fly fisher’s creel in a pattern I’ve never come across before. The willow reed basket base measures approx. 14” wide x 8” tall. Of oval form it has leather straps securing a canvas tackle back to the rear, unlike the Brady Conway (much later) with the bag at the front. The Creel is all original with its 2.5” wide adjustable canvas shoulder carry strap . A super looking display creel and I can see no reason it could not be used today for the antique angler look.
