TT opinion: For sale here is a Billy Pate anti-reverse Tarpon fly reel, made by Tibor. An early RHW reel with black & gold anodizing (serial 6688). 2 7/8″ frame with a spool width of 21mm, the reel weighs 7.8oz. Mechanically and cosmetically very good, just one end of the foot slightly facing upwards. Sold in the original zipper case with Tibor Tarpon logo. Many IGFA records were set with Tibor Billy Pate reels, and they are still making the anti-reverse reels over 47 years later. A rock-solid reel for a variety of saltwater species.
