TT opinion: A rare The Colne 14′ 3 pce cane coarse fishing rod by T H Sowerbutts, Commercial St, London.Recent hi quality cosmetic restoration and looking great. Red whipped guides with butt and tip red agate liners. Bronze push ferrules. 28″ cork handle, light alloy reel fittings and butt cap with a black rubber button. A couple of minor natural slits in the bamboo which are common. It was restored over these so the rod is safe to fish. A super-looking and rare rod in the maker’s original cloth bag with label. A fine rod for roach, tench, perch, chub, and barbel fishing.
