TT opinion: A top quality Sage Xi2 fly rod in excellent condition. Model code 1090-4 4 1/2oz. 9′ 4 piece rod for line rated #10. Originally retailed by Simpsons of Turnford. Graphite blue blank with lined butt and stripper guides and snake intermediates. Sage is still regarded as one of the best saltwater fly rod makers. Overfit joints and shaped cork handle with black twin screw light alloy reel fitting. Crisp action. In superb condition, with no faults. Comes in maker’s original cloth bag and tube.
