Just in as part of a rare collection of rods from a private European collector, we have a very rare Jim Frank No 3, three piece 8′ trout fly rod. Dark tempered cane with white wraps tipped in black, wood spacer reel seat with elaborate designed nickel silver engraved butt stopper and sliding reel fitment. Silver stoppers also elaborately quartered and engraved. The rod is of parabolic action and rarely seen. Jim worked under Ted Simroe in the Leonard shop during the 70’s. His lifetime rod output was at least 200 according to George Black in “Casting a Spell”. Comes in non related black cloth protective rod sleeve.
