TT opinion: A very scarce Hardy “The Silex No.2” vintage alloy drum casting reel in 2 ¾” diameter, c1915. Frame measures 24mm across, original factory white handles and red rubber casting trigger knob across the frame for overhand casting. Correct 66mm smooth brass foot stamped “England” to side, working rim tension regulator with brass brake indicator button. Stamped internally AHW for Arthur Wall. Smooth constant check, a delicate little reel in good condition.
