TT opinion: A fine high quality Hardy St John RHW fly reel. Hand-built in Alnwick and in best collector condition. Working Rim tension brake adjuster and smooth check clicker. Correct 65mm ribbed brass foot. The reel retains the most original finish, winds silky smooth, no drum play or rock. Backplate engraved “Cast by John Hoyle Wood 20th September 1954”. Comes with a green floating line,( the rod it came with was #8) and Hardy zip padded case.
