TT opinion: A very good rare sized Hardy Silex 4.25″ diameter bait casting reel with three rim mounted control, cut away rim section, twin white original handles on the cross bar, caged drum and Hardy details stamped to back plate. Foot slightly filed. Good strong check. No line grooves to any pillars and retains very good original black finish. Circa 1900.
