TT opinion: This is a really decorative antique Hardy Palakona split cane fly rod with a built date of 1901. It’s a 10′ three piece rod with its factory matching spare tip. Green close whipped throughout with bronze lock fast ferrules and polished wood stoppers. It been refinished and lost the black model text writing to the butt. Early sheet cork handle and bronze fittings. Brass and ebonised screw ring secure the reversible butt pin to stand the rod when changing a fly etc. Butt cap Hardy’s Patent Rings 2307 and Hardy W Reg reel fitting on handle. Still fishable today and comes in non original oversize Hardy cloth bag.
