TT opinion: A Hardy Gold Sovereign 2000 limited edition reel No 222.Machined from high tensile bar stock aluminium with a gold anodised finish for durability. Small arbor for increased capacity, a low noise check clicker can be changed from run out check to click both ways with a switch on the backplate. Backplate large rear drag adjuster operates the Avcarb disc drag system which is self-lubricating and totally sealed. All Hardy Sovereign reels can be fished with right or left-hand wind. The unique twin ball bearing feature in the centre hub ensures the spool runs silky smooth always, no matter what the pressure. Wood effect handle with counterbalance. Top quality engineering and design.The reel is fitted with Cortland 444sL, WF9F line and backing and comes in Hardy zip padded case
