TT opinion: Here we have a very rare Hardy Bougle with raised pillars, one brass roller, ebonite handle, rim tensioner, correct ribbed alloy foot and mark II check mechanism. Heavily perforated drum to make the reel as light as possible. The reel weighs 140 grams. The reel turns without any lumps or bumps. There is some wear to the pillar either side of the roller. Turns with a nice crisp sound. Made around the 1920s. Extremely rare.
