TT opinion:
A fine Victorian all-brass adjustable brake reel by Chas Farlow, backplate script engraved with 191 Strand London address. This is an early example with round brake adjuster knob to the rear. The reel runs smooth, the brake adjuster works well and it’s fitted with the original turned horn handle. As you can see the reel literally retains all of its dark black bronze finish! An excellent collector example.
