A stunning taxidermy Perch by J Cooper and Son, 28 Radnor St, London. The wooden bow front case measures approx 22″ x13″ x 6″. Gold lined glass front and glazed side panels. The Perch looks huge in this setting of reeds and fern over a gravel base. Original powder blue painted backboard. A fine spit down the rear board is covered by reeds and cannot easily be seen from the front when displayed. Original tape and paint. Original Cooper label to inside top left, paper label to top right reads, Perch, Caught by A Price ( famous match angler?) at Hatcham Bridge, March 1st, 1914 WEIGHT 3lbs. A massive fish for the time, it’s one of the best examples Iv seen seen.
