TT opinion:
Pair of Charles Farlow antique ebonite/brass plate wind fly reels. A 2.5” example, 191 Strand address to the faceplate, polished horn handle & positive check click sound. Ebonite backplate engraved “E L P”, lovely little reel, dating 1880’s & a similar 3” example with 10 Charles Street & 191 Strand addresses to the faceplate. Smooth winding reel, unfortunately, there’s a little chip alongside the foot brace but not noticeable on display, see image. Two good early reels from this famous maker.
