TT opinion: A set of five Partridge of Redditch display cards of flies tied by the late Terry Ruane. Each card measuring 12”x 9”, 4 hand-signed by Ruane, the set comprises; Saltwater fly hooks, Streamer & long shank fly hooks & 3 cards of Special Nymph, Oliver Edwards Nymph & Emerger hooks, Captain Hamilton & others, as per image. Rare set for the collector & just crying out to be framed and displayed.

Terry worked for Partridge of Redditch for many years as a demonstrator and tying specialist. He was at the forefront of the utilise man-made materials in fly tying. An accomplished artist and he illustrated his articles with detailed sketches. He drew on a vast fly-tying experience and he would often trawl through haberdasheries and craft shops on the lookout for potentially useful materials and then devise application techniques for fly tyers.
