Scottish Hardy Collection

A call from the very north of Scotland gave us the opportunity to buy a game fishing collection.

The widow had contacted a friendly tradesman who took the collection to his local tackle shop and they recommended Thomas Turner as the people to talk to.

Our Trustpilot rating says it all and gave the seller confidence in the transaction ahead.

Having driven over 400 miles through the night Jason arrived with a van full of tackle at 6.30am. A cup of tea was supplied, breakfast declined, we set about checking the various items for condition. Deal done he about turned and headed straight back home, over 800 miles in a day, there is a commitment for you.

A good mix of vintage and used modern tackle; right up our street.

A selection of Hardy Perfect reels included a 3-1/2” wide drum Spitfire model by Hardy reel maker Jimmy Smith. As expected, his initials JS were stamped on the winding plate.

Other salmon and trout Perfects sat alongside Marquis, St Andrew, Silex Major, Orvis Battenkill large arbour reels, System 2, Abu Ambassador multiplier reels, and a collection of budget models too.

Rods were interesting too; Hardy Pope, Gold Medal, a few Sharpes spliced impregnated cane including a 15’ model and a lovely Forshaw’s of Liverpool Palace de Luxe brook trout cane rod. The usual welcome bundle of Hardy Sage graphite spin and fly rods plus assorted Simms, Orvis waders and boots plus nets and more. This is exactly the type of collection we buy on a weekly basis.

Good condition, a mix of rods and reels plus all the accessories to make it all happen.

Please get in touch with Dave or myself if you’re looking to downsize your collection, game, course, or sea fishing, and let’s talk tackle.
