Noris Privat Original 8′ 9″3 piece German vintage split cane fly rod

Noris Privat Original 3 piece vintage split cane fly rod. This Noris Privat Original dates from around 1923 and was made in Austria/Germany. There is not a lot of information to be easily found online about the Noris company but it appears they became part of the Shakespeare family in 1965 and the name subsequently disappeared afterwards. It is 8′ 9″ long with a slow action according to the previous owner’s notes who used it up until 1987 when he had it overhauled with new rings and whippings after which it has not been used. The original dark varnish is evident above the handle where the rod name has been left untouched but then you can see the join to the new lighter varnish/finish above that. The rod has a small red button attached via a central screw and a fixed lower reel seat with a sliding top collar over cork. The tip section has a light set to the right but that is all.
