On the road again

A client in Wales had decided Thomas Turner were just the people to buy his Hardy collection. Phone call made, appointment booked, car fuelled  and off we go.

I think we often forget how beautiful our country is.

Less than an hour from base camp and I’m in the stunning hills of Wales. Driving at a leisurely pace I spot a signboard at the roadside and my pulse races, “All day breakfast”, well, it would be rude not to really. 

20 minutes later I’m back on the road again skirting the beautiful Lake Bala. Sadly, I forgot to pack the Speedo budgie smugglers but it was irrelevant as an attack of blue-green algae saved the locals from a horror movie. An interesting tree root was added to the boot space (for photographic reasons of course) and off again.

My visit was hugely successful. A great collection of smalls. Not underwear but little Hardy gadgets, accessories, card boxes, black japanned tins as well as the usual rods and reels, including an interesting helical pre-production reel in brass and alloy. 

All of this and more will be listed over the next few days, keep an eye out for them. If you have a collection to sell, call me especially if there are some great eateries en route, it may even help oil the wheels of a deal .
