Would you believe it, another collection just in

It’s fair to say not everyone has or chooses to spend £100, £500, £1000 or £10,000 on a vintage fishing reel.

Additionally, not every collection we buy from our clients is stuffed with top-end Hardy and Farlow collectables. Like many collectors, my first reel was a wooden Nottingham reel and they have remained a firm favourite to this day after 40 years. When the opportunity came to buy this entire Nottingham wood reel collection, it made sense to buy it lock stock and barrel.

What’s more, we are selling the whole collection as a one-off. It’s a shame to break it up after so many years. Sizes range from 2” Allcock’s boys reel to 4-1/2” pike or salmon Nottingham’s. Many reels have check clickers and date wise they range from 1900 to c. 1940 giving a good representation of the development of the English Nottingham wood reels. A wipe over with furniture wax will deepen the lustre and bring out the grain in the wood, or leave it as is for originality.

They will fill a cabinet in one hit or decorate a pub, restaurant, man cave, or office/ study. We have sold many for shop window displays, giving character and a unique backdrop to the products on sale
