Harry Reynolds Stanton twisting foot Centrepin reel

A bit of a mouthful title, this rarity belongs to long time collecting buddy Nick from Bristol.

On a fly by visit today he produced this beauty and I have to say I’ve only seen a couple similar in 3 decades of collecting.

The backplate and centre screws are identical to the standard trotting reels. It looks like the twisting foot was a simple factory adaptation from the standard fixed blade and it works well.

The drum has the tournament style shaped core. As with many of these reels the bearings are noisy, in fact more of a rough road rumble, but fun all the same.

So in short, a rare variant of a rare reel and good to see one again.
